The 2019 NFL free agency spending spree will kick off in less than one week and the Chicago Bears have two key players on defense set to hit the open market.
Safety Adrian Amos and nickel cornerback Bryce Callahan appear unlikely to sign new contracts before the legal tampering period begins on March 11 and if either or both talented defensive backs are allowed to market their services to other teams, it becomes much less likely they’ll be back.
Money will play a huge role in how this all plays out; it’s highly unlikely the Bears can afford both Amos and Callahan especially with how inflated the cornerback market is. Ryan Pace will have no choice but to pick between the two; it’s a decision that doesn’t appear to have a correct answer.
