An ammunition box containing 18 shotgun cartridges and a huge amount of bullets was discovered in west Dublin last week.
The box was discovered by gardai after a search of a wooded area in Mulhuddart las Wednesday (August 21).
The find was the result of an ongoing investigation into criminality in Corduff.
The items have now been sent for a forensic and ballistic examination.
Gardai said: "As a result of ongoing investigations into serious criminality in the Corduff area On the 21st August 2019 GardaÍ from the Community Police unit, Community Action Team and OP Runoff searched a wooded area in the Mulhuddart area near the N3.
"An ammunition box containing 18 shotgun cartridges and 150 .22 bullets were recovered.
"The items have sent for forensic and ballistic examination."
