Amitabh Bachchan confirms rib injury on 'Project K' sets; shoot halted

Amitabh Bachchan has confirmed reports that he suffered an injury to his ribcage on the sets of his upcoming film 'Project K' in Hyderabad.

The veteran star popped his rib cartilage while shooting for an action sequence in the upcoming film that also stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. He was taken to a hospital in Hyderabad for necessary treatment, before being flown back home to Mumbai to get some rest.

In his daily blog, Bachchan wrote, "I have got injured .. rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage .. cancelled shoot .. did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home .. strapping has been done and rest been advocated .. yes painful .. on movement and breathing .. will take some weeks they say before some normalisation will occur .. some medication is on also for pain.."

The actor revealed that work on the film has been temporarily suspended "until healing occurs."

In his post, he added that he is currently catching up on some rest at his home - Jalsa. "It shall be difficult or let me say, I shall be unable to meet, the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening .. so do not come .. and do inform as much as you can to those that intend coming .." Bachchan wrote summing up that he will not be able to meet fans at his residence's gate in the coming weeks.

"All else is well .." he concluded.
