Amir Riep, Jahsen Wint post bond, intend to plead not guilty to charges of kidnapping and rape

We continue to follow the circumstances surrounding the charges and arrest of Ohio State player’s Jahsen Wint and Amir Riep. The arraignment for both occurred on Thursday, with neither entering a plea. Both attorneys have made statements that both intend to enter not guilty pleas.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Amir Riep and $75,000 for Jahsen Wint during the arraignment at the Franklin County Municipal Court. As a condition of their release, both men are barred from having contact with the alleged victim or each other. Both have also signed a protection order that keeps them from contacting the victim.

According to court records, both players were charged with kidnapping and rape tied to an incident that occurred last week involving a 19-year old woman who was hanging out with both. Both were dismissed from the team the day after according to a statement released by Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

The next step is a preliminary hearing set for both next Friday, February 21 at 9:30 AM. We’ll continue to follow this story as it develops.
