Amir Khan wrecks his Mercedes after aquaplaning and smashing into barrier on motorway

Amir Khan has crashed his Mercedes into the barrier on the M6 and claimed it was "like being hit with a combo".

The boxer lost control of his £90,000 car with the road surface extremely wet following a day of rain.

Khan shared photos of the crash which showed his S350 completely wrecked with its front bumper hanging off.

His crash occurred last night traveling southbound on the M6 between junctions 12 and 13.

After sharing the photos on Instagram Khan wrote:"Thank God everyone is safe.

"A scary experience. Car lost control on the motorway #aquaplane.

"Smashing into the side of motorway barrier felt like being hit with a combo!"

It isn't known who was at the wheel when the German car went into the barriers.

But this is not the first time Khan has had to deal with drama when it comes to his luxury car collection.

Back in 2012 the 33-year-old saw a gang of armed yobs try and steal his £100,000 Range Rover.

Khan has an hugely impressive super-car collection that includes a £271,000 Lamborghini Aventador, a £233,000 Rolls Royce Phantom and a £65,000 Range Rover.

The Bolton-born star is also considering another hefty purchase in the form of a £264,000 Rolls Royce to further his collection.

Khan has not been seen in a boxing ring for over a year having beat Billy Dib in July 2019.

That win earned him the WBC International welterweight title.

Prior to that he was stopped by undefeated American Terence Crawford at Madison Square Garden.
