Amir Khan's training notes caught on camera ahead of Kell Brook clash

Amir Khan's training notes show he believes the key to beating Kell Brook will be to counter him when they meet in their grudge fight.

The British star is preparing to settle his feud with bitter rival Brook in Manchester after several years of failed attempts to make the bout happen.

Khan has been working with new coach Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre ahead of the clash who currently trains Khan's former opponent Terence Crawford.

And during the ' Behind the Ropes' documentary on Sky Sports, McIntyre's note were shown from the gym while he was writing with specific instructions which read: "Slipping and countering off of his jab, staying out the middle.

"Ten minutes ladder, 15 minutes shadow boxing, five minutes sparring and seven minutes speed challenge."

Also on the notes were another factor Khan has clearly identified as an advantage: "Head movement and eating when five minutes off of weights. Moving to left after punches sometimes."

Khan has been training in cold conditions during camp in Colorado in the build-up to his grudge match with Brook.

The 35-year-old initially admitted that he was struggling with injuries during the camp as he attempted to get back into the rhythm of preparing for a big fight.

However after receiving advice from Crawford in addition to being put through his paces by McIntyre, Khan continued his gruelling programme and managed to get into "the shape of his life".

Spencer Oliver recently claimed that Khan had considered dropping out of the fight after two or three weeks after being concerned by the condition of his "body".

Fans also expressed their concerns after claiming Khan looked "skinny" during their open workout this week in comparison to Brook.

Khan was quick to allay fears around his condition and is focused on defeating "half broken" rival Brook this week.

'King Khan's' trainer McIntyre is confident that he can help Khan implement the required skills but believes he may need to turn the clash into a "street fight" to win.

"Boxing is about the fighter he is the one who has to go in there and put his life on the line," McIntyre told Sky Sports. "You have got to be a dog in there.

"You have to think about it once or twice and sometimes he may have to throw his boxing s*** out of the window and fight. You have got to make it in to a street fight, the name of the game is to go in there and box.

"But some boxers don't come to box, they come to fight and mentally beat you up so you have to be prepared for that. And I have told him that, it's time to go."
