Amir Khan reveals his tactics to beat Terence Crawford in world title fight

Amir Khan is confident his boxing IQ will be enough to shock Terence Crawford.

The Brit challenges the world welterweight champion at Madison Square on April 20 in a bid to win a belt at a second weight.

And he has outlined how he expects to dethrone the unbeaten American.

"We’ve both been hurt but I’m a fully-fledged welterweight who hits hard," said Khan.

"I'm am unbeaten welterweight fighter and it's the weight I feel comfortable at and that I feel strong at.

"I’ve got the perfect size whereas the other weights might have been too much for me, like when I fought Canelo.

"I was winning that fight but I knew I couldn’t make any mistakes and I got caught by a shot that would have knocked out any welterweight.

"Crawford is a very skilled fighter and I can’t take him lightly - he’s got power, he’s durable and he moves well.

"For me to win this fight I have to be on my A-game and make no mistakes.

"I'm not going to go in there thinking I’m the bigger fighter, my skills will win me this fight, not my size or my power. My IQ will win this one."

The New York showdown could yet prove a defining fight for Khan, who last held a world title in 2012 - and suffered a knockout defeat in his WBC middleweight contest against Saul Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas two-and-a-half years ago.

The prospect of a unfinished business and a clash with Brook, though, continues to rumble on.

"I don't know if that fight is still going to be there. I chose this fight over that one," Khan said.

"I know I have seen numerous times in the media, (Brook's promoter) Eddie (Hearn) saying the fight is dead now, it is not going to happen again.

"Look, who knows? Time will tell. I am taking it fight by fight, so let's get this one out of the way first, then we will take it from there."
