Amir Khan pays heartbreaking tribute to his newborn nephew who has passed away

Amir Khan has paid a tribute to his newborn nephew who passed away yesterday.

The boxing star said the son of his brother, Haroon Khan, died on Wednesday.

In a tweet posted this afternoon, Amir, from Bolton, said today had been a 'tough day' for his family.

He shared the tweet alongside a picture of himself and his brother stood beside the baby's grave.

The tweet said: "Tough day for the family. My nephew, son of my brother Haroon khan passed away yesterday.

"The new born didn’t make it.

"May Allah make it easy for the family, especially the mother and father, please keep us in your prayers."

Haroon Khan, known as Harry, shares one son with his wife Arifa Janjua.

He is also a professional boxer.

Amir and his wife Faryal Makhdoom welcomed their third child - a boy named Muhammad Zaviyar Khan - in February this year.

The boxing star, 33, and Faryal, 28, are also parents to daughters Lamaisah, five, and Alayna, 21 months.
