Amir Khan becomes third star to leave I'm A Celebrity South Africa after brutal camp vote

Amir Khan has become the third star to leave I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.

The camp was told on that they would have to make the brutal decision to evict one of their fellow celebrities in an anonymous vote. This comes after Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith became the first pair to leave South Africa at the weekend.

The celebrities were tasked with anonymously writing down the name of the contestant they were voting to boot from the jungle, as two new arrivals prepare to join them in camp. After Amir said his emotional goodbyes to his campmates, he admitted that he was ready to go back to his kids.

Speaking to Ant and Dec after his exit, he said he was 'really happy' after making new friends and overcoming his fears. The sportsman said it was one of the best experiences of his life.

EastEnders stars Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney will now enter the jungle as new campmates. Joe was crowned King Of The Jungle in 2008 following a stint Down Under, while Dean had finished in fifth place on the show in 2006.

Joe and Dean will face the show's 'most disgusting trial ever' (ITV)

On entering the jungle, Joe said: “I used to be an actor, then I did the jungle, and now I’m probably best known as Stacey Solomon’s husband."

Dean describes himself as "Britain's best road sweep" in a nod to his EastEnders' character Robbie Jackson. He admits: “First time I was in I'm A Celebrity was 16 years ago and I’m probably more scared now than I was then."

The pair will immediately take part in a Bushtucker trial along with fellow campmates Fatima Whitbread and Carol Vorderman.

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa continues 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
