Amir Khan and family fly first class to Dubai in empty cabin amid Covid travel ban

Amir Khan has shared a photo of him travelling first class to Dubai with his family, despite the coronavirus travel bans.

The boxer, 34, previously travelled to the UAE in December last year for which he received criticism from fans.

In a photo posted on Instagram, Amir sat with his three kids - Lamaisah, six, Alayna, two, and Muhammad, 13-months - in an empty first-class cabin.

He captioned the photo: “Switching off with the kids!”

His wife Faryal Makhdoom, 29, wasn’t in the photo but she may have been behind the camera for the family portrait.

Faryal revealed in December that she lost her sense of taste - one of the symptoms of Covid-19 - before she and her family jetted off to Dubai.

In an online Q&A video, one fan asked her: “How did you lose six pounds?”

Faryal said: “Because I’ve not been properly eating. Because I couldn’t taste anything for about two-and-a-half weeks.”

It was revealed by the Government in December that UAE was removed from the UK’s travel corridor list.

This meant that all travellers returning from the country to the UK had to quarantine for 14 days.

At the time of the decision, Faryal took to Snapchat slammed the new rules and said: “The British government has failed the UK.”

“New rules around every corner with practically no warning. Feel like I'm living in a dictatorship.”

Merely days before the Khan’s travelled to the UAE, Amir was accused of breaching coronavirus rules after a birthday party was organised in a mansion with at least 18 people.

Their home is situated in Manchester which was a tier-three area at the time.

It wasn’t the only times that Amir breached regulations as the boxer met with a senior Pakistani politician who tested positive for coronavirus 48 hours later.

He shook hands and posed for snaps with Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister of Punjab province, during a boxing event on December 19.
