Americans seeing the rich talent of Kiradech

The Americans are just starting to see how good Kiradech Aphibarnrat is with his tied-third finish position at the recent WGC-Mexico Championship, which earned him US$472,000.

He now stands 38th on the 2019 PGA Tour money list, and you get the feeling that he's just about to get going.

Once he's found his feet and is fully accustomed to the American way of life, I feel he will be consistently on the receiving end of very big cheques.

His missed cut at the Honda Classic could have been a blessing in disguise as that was his seventh tournament in eight weeks.

Meanwhile, feathers are being ruffled within the USGA with big name players speaking out about the new rules.

One wonders why there wasn't a meeting with the players before these new rules were introduced.

Months ago, I mentioned the new rules and that perhaps it wouldn't take Einstein to predict some problems down the line.

Golf may be a gentleman's game, but that doesn't mean anger management is not required from time to time.

Recently two players who competed in the club championship at Lake Club Benoni in South Africa couldn't leave their emotions out on the course.

Instead they brought them into the clubhouse where a real 'fisticuffs in the 19th' broke out.

Words like "You're a thief, man. You're a cheat!" apparently didn't help to calm down the situation especially for the member who nearly went through the clubhouse window and who received several punches to his face.

The following statement was issued by the club: "On behalf of Lake Club we duly apologise for the unfortunate situation that happened during our club championship prize giving yesterday. Please note that we do not accept nor condone any such behaviour as we have obligation to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all our members and guests. It is very unfortunate that a video has gone viral as this is a once off incident and is not indicative of the fellowship we have at our club".
