American YouTube stars stun Ayr United fan after promoting his business during food challenge tour

Two YouTube stars with a love of food proved their hearts are as big as their stomachs when they took time out of a tour of Scotland to promote an Ayrshire business.

Randy Santel, who boasts an amazing 1.7 million followers on his channel, and girlfriend Katina – also an online star who has almost 250,000 followers with her page Katina Eats Kilos – were in Larbert, near Falkirk, to embark on their latest mega food challenges.

And they were only too happy to meet up with Ayr United diehard Steven Mackie, 24, who made a special visit to Larbert to see them in action.

But Steven, 24, was stunned when the popular duo offered to plug his fledgling gift shop business in Ayr’s Carrick Street, Ayr We Go.

Randy and Katina even made a brief impromptu promo video, encouraging bargain hunters to make a pit stop when out and about.

Steven, who previously owned a business in the Kyle Centre before it closed down, said: “I travelled up to Larbert to see their food challenges but I missed them because of the trains!

“But in the end I got some pictures taken with them and they signed some autographs. It was quite good, especially when they did a wee video about my shop at the end.

“Randy and Katina were fantastic, I couldn’t say anything bad about them.”

Randy, 36, was actually in Ayrshire recently to tackle a food challenge dubbed ‘impossible’ by its creator.

Randy faced up to Big Dibby’s “big durty cow” burger challenge at The Buf in Prestwick – and he absolutely demolished it.

The challenge involved a gigantic tower of five five-ounce burger patties stuffed with chilli con carne, onion rings and Ayrshire bacon.

Nestled next to the burger sat a stack of eight chicken fajita goujons, 10 hot wings, a bowl of chilli cheese fries and a bowl of coleslaw – all of which had to be finished off in 30 minutes.

Randy scoffed the lot with 40 seconds to spare before washing it all down with a well-deserved pint of Tennent’s.

Steven said: “I wanted to go see Randy at the Prestwick event but I was on holiday down in Blackpool and I missed it.

“So I decided to go see him at Larbert, on the last day of my holidays, because they don’t normally come to Scotland – but they were great! They travel all over the world doing these food challenges.”
