The Cotswolds is renowned for its picturesque scenery, quaint towns and everlasting sweet English charm.
However, not all have caught up with the beauty of the area, sadly. As reported by MyLondon ; however, some visitors from across the pond were less than impressed with the famous area.
Linnbada from Nevada, who took one look at Castle Combes (you know, commonly cited as the most beautiful place in the Cotswolds) and decided to give it a miss. She wrote: "We were going to walk the town but after we saw what little it had to offer besides a steep walk down the hill to get there and the return, we decided we would pass and wait for the Cotswolds.”

TripAdvisor user hickss85 from Texas also got a bit confused, specifically with the name Castle Combes. "There is NO CASTLE in castle combe!," they angrily explained on the site. "No castle but there are remains of a castle, but you won't see it. It is overgrown and on private property."
BobKonecny from Alabama wasn't a fan of how quiet Castle Combe was. "After a long walk from the car park up on a hill on a Wednesday afternoon, the village appeared to be closed," he wrote on Tripadvisor.

"The short section of main street that was shown in War Horse is very attractive, but is that all there is? (...) The one pub that was open seemed to have the only town's activity."
One particularly disappointed American couldn't even imagine why people would go there. "The walking tour suggests you '..imagine what it was like 400 years ago when...' I guess we didn't have enough imagination to find Stow worth the time," wrote FredLikesToTravel from Massachusetts.
Alcove12 from New York was initially excited to see the landscaped garden of the private residence of Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall when visiting Highgrove Gardens. However, they were eventually left utterly disappointed.
They joked: "Although Prince Charles has 12 gardeners it appeared as if he needed many more."
The Cotswolds may have been the largest designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the country, but unfortunately you can’t please everyone. We’ll convince them next time.
