American TikTok woman in 'Bawbag' and 'Ecclefechan' Scots words challenge as fans left in stitches

A TikTok clip showing an American woman attempting to pronounce Scottish words like 'Bawbag' and 'Ecclefechan' has left her Scots fans in stitches.

TikTok user Angelina Fishback apologised in advance for her hilarious attempts after asking her Scots followers to submit words for her to try.

In a previous clip, she had asked people to comment with a list of Scottish words that they wanted her to try and pronounce, adding: "I did this on my old account with Welsh words and it was really fun."

In the pronunciation video, which features the list of words on TikTok's green screen feature, Angelina jokes: "I feel like you guys came through with some things I shouldn't be saying, but I'm going to do it anyway."

She then attempts to pronounce words and phrases like 'Milngavie', 'Yer a Whalloper' and 'Bawbag'.

She makes a decent attempt at some of the harder words like 'Ecclefechan' and even gets Edinburgh right before horribly mangling the word Glaswegian.

The clip has received over 5,000 likes with comments offering tips on how to correctly pronounce Milngavie and Jobby.

Others applauded her for getting Edinburgh right and explained that Bennachie is pronounced 'Ben-a-hee' and Findochty is 'Fin-ech-ty'.

Another fan said it was actually "no a bad try", adding that they felt like a bad Scot as even they couldn't even pronounce some of the words on the list.

The TikTok star, who lives in Wales, had previously went viral after creating a video in which she pokes fun at typical American pronunciation with a clip stating that it's not pronounced Scotland but "Scatland".

She then "formally apologised" to the people of Scotland for her terrible joke in another clip before tagging herself the "Queen of Scatland" in her bio.
