American surfer Caroline Marks reported a "false positive" test result for COVID-19 last week and has flown to Australia ahead of the Newcastle Cup next month.
Marks was unable to board the World Surf League's chartered flight from Los Angeles to Sydney on Sunday after testing positive.
She was set to miss all four Championship Tour events being held in Australia over the next two months.
But the WSL said it had been a "false positive based on three subsequent negative test results".
