A Californian living in London has shared a list of 'socially acceptable' things in England that would "confuse" Americans.
Andrea Celeste is a digital creator who regularly makes Instagram and TikTok videos comparing life in the UK to the US. In the first part of a series listing features of everyday life that would baffle residents from her homeland, Andrea first picked out the lack of chattiness of retail and hospitality workers.
Andrea explained: "Cashiers and retail workers don’t typically start conversations with people to the extent they do in America." She did argue: "The more outside of London you go, the better chance you have [of conversations] but still not the same as America”.

People carrying alcohol down the street was another key difference. Andrea said that this is "illegal in the US apart from some part of Las Vegas". She added: "There's jaywalking everywhere, again illegal in the US but not in the UK."
Moving onto food, she discussed black pudding which tastes amazing in her opinion. However, she admitted: "I’ve freaked out my American friends by saying that though!"
Andrea also argued that beans on toast was another British delicacy that Americans seem "mortified" by. However, Andrea is a fan of this meal too.
She agued: "To be fair, it looks terrible in photos but tastes really nice. It’s a really good snack at uni when you’re trying to save money!"
