American Murder: The Family Next Door's Chris Watts bonds with fellow killer behind bars

Killers Chris Watts and Jake Patterson have formed a friendship in prison, according to reports.

American Murder: The Family Next Door's Chris - who brutally killed wife Shannan then took the lives of their two little girls, Bella, four, and three-year-old Celeste - and Jake - who abducted 13-year-old Jayme Closs for 88 days after he killed both her parents, James and Denise - have grown close inside, a new book has told.

The pair - who both committed the sickening crimes in 2018 - have bonded behind bars at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin by reading and discussing the bible, according to a book named The Perfect Father.

Mail Online report that Watt's mother Cindy revealed her son's friendship with Jake - who is serving two life sentences - during a chat with author of John Glatt - who penned the book.

Cindy says her son helped Jake with his temper, as she explained: "When they'd go out for rec, other prisoners would start yelling at them and Patterson would start yelling things back.

"Christopher told him, ''Don't do that. Just calm down.'"

She also shared that Chris would read Patterson passages from the Bible every evening and that the two would spend hours discussing them.

Chris' horrific crimes have been documented in Netflix film American Murder: The Family Next Door.

Chris confessed to killing his pregnant wife Shannan but initially made the horror claim it was because she had killed their children, when he told her he was leaving her for his new girlfriend.

Finally he confessed to killing all of them, burying Shannan's body in a shallow grave and dumping his daughters' bodies into an oil tank.
