After weeks of brief teasers, the first full(-ish) trailer for American Horror Story: Freakshow has appeared online.
The minute-long clip takes viewers through the predictably creepy new carnival setting, teasing glimpses of the new incarnations of the show’s regular cast members.
Following her Emmy win for previous AHS season Coven, Jessica Lange, looking more like her glamorous Chanel-loving witch incarnation than the drunken nun of Asylum, appears to be back in charge, and there’s twice as much of co-star Sarah Paulson, who plays a character with two heads.
Coven-era recruit Kathy Bates is back (as a bearded lady), as is Angela Bassett, who has an unusual upfront talent. The Shield’s Michael Chiklis joins the cast as a moustachioed strongman.
The trailer follows a series of brief yet tantalising character-specific clips, compiled below, and a number of realistic-looking fan-made fakes, including one which suggested Cher might follow Stevie Nicks into a guest role on the show.
American Horror Story: Freak Show will air in the UK on 21 October on FOX, and in the US on 8 October on FX.
