The Northwestern Wildcats are to face off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Dublin's Aviva Stadium this weekend, attracting fans of American football to the venue for an action packed event.

When is the American Football happening at the Aviva Stadium?

This year’s Aer Lingus College Football Classic will take place on Saturday, August 27 at Dublin's Aviva Stadium.

Kick off is at 5.30pm.

Which American Football teams are playing at the Aviva Stadium?

The game on Saturday, August 27 sees the Northwestern Wildcats take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

This will be the first time that either of the two beasts of college football have ever played in Ireland.

What to expect from the American Football match at the Aviva Stadium

As well as the college football action at the Aviva Stadium, there will be a halftime show, tailgates and more extras synonymous with American college football.

How much are tickets to the American Football game at the Aviva?

Tickets for the Northwestern Wildcats vs Nebraska Cornhuskers game at Dublin's Aviva Stadium start at €60 and go up as far as €225.

All tickets are available to purchase through Ticketmaster.ie.

How to get to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin

Public transport is by far the best way to get to the Aviva Stadium.

The DART leaves you right beside the stadium at the Lansdowne Road stop. Meanwhile, Dublin Bus routes that take you near the venue include the number 4, 7, 7A, 38, 38A, 39 and 39A.

The Aviva Stadium takes around 40 minutes to get to by foot from O'Connell Street and around 30 minutes from St Stephen's Green.
