America is making a version of Doc Martin without Martin Clunes

Doc Martin Martin Clunes Fox

Fox is adapting the UK hit show Doc Martin for American audiences, titled Best Medicine.
Josh Charles (Dead Poets Society, The Good Wife) will star as Dr. Martin Best, the American counterpart to Martin Clunes's Dr. Martin Ellingham.
The original Doc Martin ran for 10 seasons (2004-2022).
Fox's adaptation aims to retain the humor and eccentricity of the original while giving it a small-town American setting.
The announcement comes shortly after Martin Clunes revealed the passing of Dodger, the dog who played Buddy in the original series.
