Nottingham Forest fans were impressed by Sammy Ameobi's debut performance as the Reds beat Alfreton Town 2-1 at the Impact Arena.
Sabri Lamouchi's side had to come from behind in the Derbyshire sunshine, and it was the man who joined from Bolton Wanderers who was the star of the show.
For his new manager, who watched on from the stands , it was his first opportunity to cast his eye over his new players ahead of next week's tour, and it was also the first chance Reds fans had to see the squad in action ahead of the new campaign.
Goals from Brennan Johnson and Karim Ansarifard helped Forest to the victory, but Ameobi bagged himself an assist and struck the wood-work in the Reds' Garibaldi anniversary kit.
Lamouchi's side will next be in action in sunny Spain on Tuesday against Dundee, his first real chance to work from the dug-out.
But for now, fans have been enjoying their first glimpse of Ameobi.
