AMC has announced that it is reinstating host "Talking Dead" host Chris Hardwick to his network duties following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct, effective immediately.
"Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of 'Talking Dead' and 'Talking with Chris Hardwick,'" read a statement from the network released Tuesday.
"We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step."
Hardwick's standing was put into question after an ex-girlfriend, actress and TV personality Chloe Dykstra, accused him of mental and sexual abuse in an essay titled "Rose-Colored Glasses: A Confession" published on Medium in June.
Hardwick responded in a statement that he was "heartbroken" by those claims. He stepped aside from his usual appearances at San Diego Comic-Con as AMC announced it would assess his standing with the network.
A regular presence at Comic-Con, Hardwick was replaced by Yvette Nicole Brown in moderating panel presentations for "The Walking Dead" and its companion series "Fear the Walking Dead." Brown was also set to step in for Hardwick on "Talking Dead" as the investigation continued.
