AMC Acquires 'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Rights After TNT Cancellation

Dune 2 premier

AMC has secured the exclusive U.S. linear and streaming rights to all four seasons of the post-apocalyptic drama series, 'Snowpiercer,' after the show was initially canceled by its original network, TNT. The decision to bring back the series for a fourth season came after Warner Bros. Discovery opted not to air it due to cost-cutting measures. The first three seasons of 'Snowpiercer' will be available for streaming on AMC+ later this year, with Season 4 set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in early 2025.

'Snowpiercer' is based on the 2013 film of the same name, which was adapted from a graphic novel by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette. The show, which stars Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Sean Bean, and others, has garnered a loyal fanbase since its debut.

Showrunner Paul Zbyszewski expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring Season 4 to viewers, praising the cast and crew for their hard work. New cast members for the upcoming season include Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov.

Tomorrow Studios, the production company behind 'Snowpiercer,' lauded AMC as the ideal partner to showcase the final season of the series. The show's executive producers, including Zbyszewski, Christoph Schrewe, and others, are excited to deliver a thrilling conclusion to the story.

'Snowpiercer' has been a project years in the making, with development starting in 2015 and the series officially ordered in 2018. The show's exploration of important global issues has resonated with audiences, making it a standout in the post-apocalyptic genre.

International distribution of 'Snowpiercer' is handled by ITV Studios, which facilitated the acquisition by AMC. The series has been praised for its talented cast and crew, as well as its compelling storytelling that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
