Ambulances sent to Perth park after drunk youngsters found unconscious

Ambulances had to be sent to a popular Perth park three times in one day to deal with drunken teenagers.

Paramedics were on hand at the North Inch to deal with youths who had been found unconscious having vomited or urinated on themselves.

Ten young people had to be taken to Perth Police Station on Saturday, April 17 due to anti-social behaviour.

It comes after similar incidents over the Easter weekend.

A spokesperson for Tayside Police Division said: "Not only were these incidents unpleasant and completely avoidable, they tied up the time of police officers who could have been needed to deal with incidents elsewhere.

"Ahead of this coming weekend, we will again visit off licences to inform them of their responsibilities, and we would also like to remind members of the public, if you’re approached by someone under the age of 18 who asks you to purchase alcohol for them, do not agree to do so as you will be committing an offence.

"Our officers will also again be patrolling at beauty spots and public parks over the weekend to ensure the safety of the public, and to provide advice around the coronavirus regulations. Please be respectful of others in the area in terms of social distancing, anti-social behaviour and littering.

"We continue to work closely with partners and Perth and Kinross Council to make sure young people are as safe as possible, but we still need support from parents and carers. Please be mindful about where your children are and who they are with, and educate them in relation to alcohol and risks involved. Make sure you can contact them if needed."
