Ambulance service called after person was injured in gas cylinder explosion

Firefighters were called out to a gas cylinder explosion this Easter Sunday which has left a person burned.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Radford Street in Worksop at around 2.27pm.

Firefighters from Worksop and Edwinstowe fire station were called to a caravan.

There was a report of a person burned after a barbecue gas cylinder exploded.

The gas was isolated by the crew, and first aid was given by East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Police warned: 'Please take care when using barbecues and gas cylinders.'

The fire service were also called out to a fire at a property in Welham Grove in Retford at 1.29pm.

The fire involved cars, a triple garage and a caravan severely damaged by fire.

Six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and a short extension ladder were used to extinguish the blaze.
