Ambulance paramedic's working conditions leaves viewers fuming

Ambulance fans were left horrified tonight as they saw the conditions paramedics had to work under during the Covid crisis.

Thursday night's episode saw paramedics in Liverpool battle to keep up with the sheer number of calls coming into them.

Some patients were forced to wait hours for an ambulance, because there simply weren't enough medical staff to attend to them.

Many of the calls the paramedics went to concerned people who had coronavirus.

And viewers were left stunned as they saw the flimsy face masks and aprons the paramedics were given to wear to protect them from Covid.

Katie said: "Its disgusting that the paramedics only get so minimal PPE!"

Leanne O'Connor said: "When you watch this you just see how badly the front line staff were let down on the PPE front.."

Amie said: "Omg the midwife doesn’t even have proper PPE just a flimsy loose fitting surgical mask."

Chris Mawby said: "In Asia they use hazmats but in the UK it's paper thin PPE poor woman."

Jayne said: "Do the ambulance staff just not have the PPE to wear round Covid patients? The lack of goggles or visors is frightening."

And Olivia said: "This shows the true extent of the level of PPE staff have had available. To say we have been let down is a major understatement."

*Ambulance continues at 9pm on BBC1 next Thursday
