A South Australian ambulance officer accused of causing the death of a patient by dangerous driving has been ordered to stand trial, after he pleaded not guilty.
Matthew James McLean was transporting Karen Biddel, 48, in a bariatric ambulance from Port Pirie to Adelaide in August 2016.
But the vehicle rolled on Port Wakefield Road at Virginia, and police said Ms Biddel died at the scene of the crash.
Mr McLean, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charge in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He entered the plea in front of a number of his SA Ambulance Service colleagues, who sat in the gallery.
Ms Biddel's teenage daughter, who was travelling with her mother in the ambulance, was injured in the crash along with Mr McLean and another ambulance officer.
Magistrate Mary Louise Hribal remanded Mr McLean on continuing bail to be arraigned in the District Court in July at which time a trial date will be set.
