Ambulance called to crash involving cyclist on Peffermill Road in Edinburgh

Paramedics have been called to a crash involving a cyclist on an Edinburgh street.

The accident took place on Peffermill Road near the junction with King's Haugh around 8.15am on Wednesday.

Ambulances and police vehicles have blocked the road, and eyewitnesses reported seeing a car with a cracked front window.

Traffic information service Inrix reported a cyclist had been involved in the accident.

They said: "Peffermill Road in both directions partially blocked, very slow traffic due to accident, a cyclist involved around Kings Haugh."

The incident has led to lengthy queues in both directions.
