Amber Gill fires back after Maura Higgins 'nabs' her Dancing on Ice spot

Amber Gill has hit back at claims she's the least successful Love Island contestant this year amid reports Maura Higgins has pinched her spot on .

Yesterday, it was claimed bosses of the ITV skating show had done a U-turn and asked Maura to star on the show instead of Amber after being impressed by her presenting style on This Morning.

The news came as a shock to fans especially after Amber trounced her co-stars in the Love Island final public vote, along with her partner Greg O'Shea.

Since the dating show ended in July, many of the islanders have bagged themselves lucrative contracts with some very high profile retailers.

But Amber is yet to make any announcements.

One fan tried to rub salt in the wound by tweeting: "Maura joining Boohoo. Ovie joining ASOS and Molly Mae having her own collection with PLT. What is Amber doing please?"

While she didn't even tag Amber in the post, the Love Island champ was still alerted to the dig and responded on her own Twitter page.

"Sis please don't tell me you think I'm out here doing nothing? I always do the most. Be patient!" Amber sassily quipped.

Her boast comes just after Molly Mae Hague launched her own collaboration with Pretty Little Thing.

While Maura Higgins was announced as the new face of Boohoo clothing and is also rumoured to have landed a six figure contract with Ann Summers.

But rather unusually, champion Amber has remained out of the promotions spotlight.

It had been reported she would follow in the footsteps of Kem Cetinay and Wes Nelson by swapping the villa for the Dancing on Ice rink in January.

But yesterday, sources claimed producers had swapped her for Maura after believing she'd be more of a hit with viewers.

Maura is an acting agony aunt on This Morning (ITV)

A telly insider told The Sun that Maura has snatched the spot from Amber due to her "sense of humour and personality".

The former grid girl has already impressed ITV bosses with This Morning guest spots, with viewers also praising her no-nonsense style.
