March 09--An Amber Alert was issued Monday after a 1-year-old boy was abducted after a violent stabbing at his mother's home in San Pedro, officials said.
Police are looking for Jayden Nathaniel Santiago, who was abducted by his father, Giovany Santiago-Enriquez, 37, about 1:30 a.m. from his mother's home, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Santiago-Enriquez went to his-girlfriend's home, attacked her and stabbed her new boyfriend, authorities said. He took Jayden, whom he has legal custody over, and fled the home.
He has not been seen or heard from since the attack. Jayden's whereabouts are also unknown.
Police say Santiago-Enriquez has made suicidal threats and has attempted suicide in the past.
Santiago-Enriquez, who officials said is considered armed and dangerous, could be traveling to Washington state, Oregon or Mexico, where he knows people.
He was last seen driving a gray 2006 Nissan Altima. The California license plate number is 5UCF010.
Jayden weighs 26 pounds, is 24 inches tall and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light brown and green sweater, green-striped onesie and black-and-white Nike shoes.
Santiago-Enriquez was wearing gray and black Nike shoes and a beanie, sweater and Dickies pants, all of which were black. He weighs 200 pounds, is 5 feet 8 with black hair and brown eyes.
Authorities urged the public to call 911 if they see the man or the car.
