Online giant Amazon has today announced it will create 2,000 new UK jobs by the end of the year in a move that will take its total permanent workforce to almost 30,000.
It's been described by Chancellor Philip Hammond as a "vote of confidence" in the UK economy, who also claimed it will help the country continue to lead the "technological revolution".
As well as London, the recruitment drive will stretch to various regions, with the North West , South East and Scotland among those listed in Wednesday's announcement.
In the North West specifically, more than 90 jobs are available for professionals in fields such as finance, IT, safety and engineering.
They will be at the firm's operations facilities across Altrincham, Bolton, Warrington, Preston, Stoke and Manchester. A sortation site in St Helens is also due to open in September.
Welcoming the news, Mr Hammond said: “Today’s announcement from Amazon is a clear vote of confidence in the British economy.

“This government is supporting business to create the high-skilled, high-paid jobs of the future, and these roles will benefit people across the UK, including the cities of Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and London.
“Thanks to our record investment in infrastructure, skills and research and development, we will continue to lead the technological revolution.”
Stefano Perego, Amazon’s vice president of UK customer fulfilment, said: “We are delighted to be recruiting for specialist managerial roles in our operations network in the North West, with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits from the very first day.
“These are highly-skilled roles working on exciting and innovative new technologies that benefit Amazon’s customers around the world. We’re proud to employ thousands of people in the North West to ensure we continue delivering a fantastic level of service for our customers.”
As well as that, Amazon says it also has a number of positions for graduates in technical, non-technical and operations roles.
According to the online giant, graduates at Amazon lead teams work on key projects and help the company to provide an even better shopping experience for customers.
Amazon has partnerships with a number of universities to support graduates into these roles, and says it also welcomes applications.
