Amazon is set to open a huge 145,000 sq ft new hub in Glasgow in the near future.
They have taken on a 15-year lease for a new fulfilment centre at Glasgow Business Park in Baillieston off the M8, CoStar News reports.
The build-to-suit warehouse has been let to the US ecommerce giant by Hermiston Securites, a subsidiary of the Muir Group.
The development land was purchased at the beginning of 2018, with plans then lodged in September last year for a large distribution hub after they were approached by an undisclosed occupier.
Amazon currently employs more than 250,000 people globally at their network of fulfilment centres, which are charged with fulfiling customer orders.
They currently operate more than 175 fulfilment centres around the world in more than 150 million square feet of space, the majority located across North America and Europe.
