A woman has revealed an Amazon purchase has become the 'go-to' with her family during the cost of living crisis.
With winter now in full swing, air-drying clothes and towels outside has become increasingly difficult.
And keeping them indoors for too long may cause issues like damp and mould growing inside the home.
And with the cost of electricity high, running a tumble dryer or putting the heating up on full whack to dry items may set families back a pretty penny, report Daily Record.
Therefore, households may be looking to purchase alternative towels that are far quicker to dry.
One money-saving mum has revealed how she has been struggling with putting the tumble dryer on for her towels, as the cost of running one is eating through her pocket.
Known on TikTok as the @duchessofthrift, the mum has claimed that her solution is "one of the most useful" tips she's ever shared with her 33,200 followers.
In her most recent video, the mum says that she has made one small change in her household as a way of 'adapting' to the cost of living crisis - and that is purchasing different towels for her family to use.
Showing a set that she purchased from Amazon, which included two big bath towels, two hand towels and two face cloths, this is the perfect alternative to the big chunky and fluffy towels we all use.
The woman explained that they are microfibre towels, which soak up "five times more water" than a normal towel, so it dries your body really quickly too.
To her followers on the popular site, she said: "So I've invested £23 in a set of microfibre towels, and oh my god, it's a miracle. These come out of the washing machine dry. They need an hour to air, but they barely need drying."
She added: "These are a long-term investment - these will be my winter towels from now on, every year. We know the energy's going up again in April, god knows what we'll be doing next winter."
And people have gone to praise her for the genius discovery.
