Amazon shopper saves thousands on 'stunning' bathroom renovation using £15 product

One Amazon shopper was able to give their bathroom a "great transformation" using a tile paint product from the online retailer.

The woman, who decided her bathroom was "dark and depressing" sought to give it a much-needed revamp.

Rather than paying the thousands of pounds she was quoted to have all of her black tiles removed and replaced, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

She purchased Johnstone's 431006 Tile Paint Pale Grey, which costs just £14 for a 750ml tin on the e-commerce site.

However, a range of different colours are available — including aqua leaf, summer storm, pink cadillac, and crushed pineapple.

Satisfied with the result, she took to the DIY On A Budget Facebook group to share more details — as well as photos of the bathroom before and after the work.

The customer wrote: "My latest DIY project, this was one of the most fiddly frustrating jobs I’ve ever done, but one of the most rewarding, as I spent about £150 (that includes new towels etc) and most of that was paying for a plumber to take the radiator off and to put it back on again when I’d finished painting, compared to a few grand I was quoted to have it all taken out, plastered and re-tiled again I think it’s looking good with a few coats of tile paint."

She added: "From dark and depressing to light, bright and fresh".

A second commented: "What a difference! It looks absolutely amazing. Well done you!"

"Fantastic job looks great," agreed a third.

"That's stunning," stated a fifth.

A sixth echoed: "Fantastic, great transformation".

One even joked: "Amazing, could you come and do mine?"
