- Alexa+ – a new and improved version of Amazon’s voice assistant – has arrived in the UK before its launch in the rest of Europe.
- The upgraded Alexa is integrated with apps like OpenTable and is able to make reservations, manage your calendar, and order a takeaway.
- It has been designed to be more personable than the standard Alexa and can understand follow-up questions and remember details from previous conversations.
- UK customers are able to get Alexa+ from 19 March as part of an invite-only early access programme, but can gain immediate access by buying one of Amazon’s new Echo devices, which range from £99.99 to £219.99.
- Existing Amazon Prime subscribers get Alexa+ for free, while non-subscribers will pay £19.99 per month.
