Amazon returns will soon be accepted at select Kohl's stores

MILWAUKEE _ Kohl's Corp. is continuing its partnership with e-retailer Amazon by offering to process returns on Amazon products starting in October, Kohl's announced Tuesday.

More than 80 stores in Chicago and Los Angeles will pack and ship eligible Amazon returns for free.

"We are thrilled to launch this unprecedented and innovative concept, allowing customers to bring in their unpackaged Amazon returns to Kohl's and we will pack them, ship them, and return them to Amazon for free," Richard Schepp, Kohl's chief administrative officer, said in a news release. "This is a great example of how Kohl's and Amazon are leveraging each other's strengths _ the power of Kohl's store portfolio and omnichannel capabilities combined with the power of Amazon's reach and loyal customer base."

Customers can take unpackaged items bought on Amazon to be returned at participating stores. Kohl's will package and transport the items to Amazon return centers. Kohl's has more than 1,100 stores in 49 states.

The retailer, based in suburban Milwaukee, and Seattle-based Amazon announced another collaboration this month. Kohl's will start to sell and display Amazon smart home products in its stores. In October, Amazon will take over 1,000 square feet in 10 Kohl's stores to show devices such as the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets. Those 10 stores are also in the Chicago and Los Angeles areas.
