Amazon prioritising essentials and medical supplies as it suspends independent merchant deliveries to warehouses

Amazon is making huge changes to temporarily prioritise essential and medical supplies.

According to The Independent , the online retail giant has suspended the shipment of all items from independent merchants to its warehouses.

The move excludes household staples and medical supplies and lasts until April 5.

When a customer buys from an independent retailer through the site, they then send it to Amazon which sends it to you - but this won’t happen for three weeks.

A spokesman told The Independent: "We are temporarily prioritising household staples, medical supplies and other high-demand products coming into our fulfilment centres so we can more quickly receive, restock, and ship these products to customers."

"We understand this is a change for our selling partners and appreciate their understanding as we temporarily prioritise these products for customers," the spokesperson added.

Products which are already on their way to warehouses are being accepted and shipped, but no new products will be accepted after this for three weeks.
