Amazon Prime reveal pundit line-up for December games and include four Newcastle United old boys

Amazon Prime have named a strong former Newcastle United line-up to their pundits list ahead of December's broadcasting pics.

The Magpies will play live on Amazon Prime in their midweek fixture at Leeds United on December 16 (6pm) and on December 30 in the big clash against champions Liverpool at St James' Park in the final Toon game of 2020.

As well as securing high calibre commentators such as Clive Tyldsesley, Ian Darke and Guy Mowbray, Amazon have secured the services of Alan Shearer again plus former Toon players Jermaine Jenas, Michael Owen and Les Ferdinand.

Shearer was a hit with fans in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace with a strong pundit performance against the Eagles in which he summed up the feeling of fans perfectly about the problems at St James' Park when blaming Mike Ashley for the unrest on Tyneside.

The legendary number 9 will move up into the co-commentary position and could potentially cover Newcastle's games at Leeds and the encounter against Liverpool.

Amazon Prime's Alex Green said: Every match will have its own dedicated on-screen pundits and hosts for pre-match build-up and post-match analysis, live from the stadium ground.

"Prime Video’s hosts for the 20/21 campaign include some brand new faces, including presenters Simon Thomas and Angus Scott, a

selection of ex-England players and coaches for punditry and co-commentary in Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Lucy Ward, and former Premier League official, Mark Clattenburg becoming Prime Video’s new refereeing pundit.

"These new faces will be joined across the 23 live and exclusive December fixtures by Prime Video’s returning line-up of talent, including presenters Gabby Logan and Jim Rosenthal.

"Insightful punditry analysis will also be provided by Alan Shearer, Peter Crouch, Roberto Martinez,

Lee Dixon, Harry Redknapp, Jermaine Jenas, Alex Scott and Peter Schmeichel.

"A team of renowned experts are primed to deliver commentary including Clive Tyldesley, Jon Champion, Connor McNamara, Guy Mowbray and Ian Darke alongside Andy Townsend, Ally McCoist, Glenn Hoddle and Kevin Kilbane.

"Steve Bower will host Every Game, Every Goal, a dedicated stream on 16th and 29th December bringing fans every goal from every Premier League game, as it happens."

Amazon Prime's managing director Green also said: "We were really pleased with how fans responded to our line-up of talent for the first season.

"For our second year we wanted to add to this overall package with a few key signings across our production. We’re really excited to have added even more expertise and knowledge to the mix with the likes of Simon Thomas, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Lucy Ward, giving us a wider pool of talent to analyse our matches.

"We’ve also brought in one of the Premier League’s most iconic referees, Mark Clattenburg, to offer some in-game punditry.

"Overall, we hope customers feel we’ve made a great line-up even better!"
