Amazon Prime introduce feature football fans have been crying out for

The Amazon Prime era is here with fans tasked with live streaming the Premier League in the first of two full rounds of fixtures this season.

The streaming giant kicked things off with Burnley vs Manchester City and Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth and while much was familiar, there was a key feature that delighted viewers.

Prime afforded viewers an audio option: don't like Peter Drury and Jim Beglin at Turf Moor? Well, feel free to mute them and listen to "Stadium Atmosphere" instead.

It is the sort of feature that could prove especially popular during high profile moments, say when Liverpool deliver their latest rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone late in games.

There was more too, live stats including win probability, as well as the ability to rewind to highlights.

Open up the "X-Ray" feature with stats, highlights and line-ups in a compact sidebar that is not intrusive either, while not ripping up the rulebook, Amazon Prime have at least glued in a few more pages.

Tonight brings a new challenge with six live games simultaneously (with Liverpool vs Everton the late kick-off at 20:15).

But for now, the novelty of giving fans the choice of whether to have commentary as part of their viewing experience appears to have gone down well.
