Amazon Prime Day: Secret deals page that offers discounts long after sale closes

Millions of Brits will visit Amazon this week for the online retailer’s biggest sale of the year - but you can still get deals long after this ends.

The eagerly-anticipated Prime Day 2022 started just after midnight today (July 12).

Despite its name the sale actually lasts for more than one day, and will end on Wednesday evening (July 13).

The event promises big discounts on a wide range of items, from saucepans to smart watches - and offers a chance for shoppers to get a bargain amid the cost of living crisis.

But even if you miss the Prime Day sales, or just don't see anything you like, you can still get special discounts at Amazon all year.

This is thanks to some little-known parts of the Amazon website that only exist to list deals.

Buy ‘as new’ with Amazon Renewed

Amazon has a little-known page called Amazon Renewed where it sells "as new" refurbished goods.

It stocks previously owned items that have been tested and brought back to life - and these products even come with a separate one-year warranty.

You can shop by category - for example, there are sections for smartphones, laptops, cameras and homeware.

However, because the products sold on this part of Amazon are refurbished it makes price comparisons tricky.

When we checked today, we spotted a refurbished Russell Hobbs kettle on sale for £19.20 rather than the usual price of £24.49.

A revamped Apple iPhone 8 64GB is on offer for £151.28, a saving of £19.71.

Bag discounts through Amazon Outlet

Did you know Amazon also has its own Outlet page?

This is where thousands of overstocked items are sold off at discounted prices - for example, if a retailer wasn't able to shift everything after Christmas.

Discounts offered can be 70% off or more. Again, you can also shop by department to help you find what you're looking for.

The Mirror spotted 20% off Etekcity electronic scales, now on sale for £15.13.

There are also bargains to be had on Joules womens' slippers, with 70% off on some sizes.

These can be picked up for 38.95 rather than the usual £29.95.

Find returned bargains on Amazon Warehouse

For returned or slightly damaged goods at discounted prices, check out Amazon Warehouse.

You'll get an idea of an item's condition before buying - so whether it is "like new" or "acceptable" - and if you're not happy with what you receive, you can return it within 30 days.

We checked out the Warehouse page today and saw a Henry vacuum in "very good" condition for £92.99, rather than the standard price of £149.99 for a new one.

Unfortunately, Prime Day also attracts cyber criminals disturbingly keen to take advantage of eager customers rushing to bag a bargain.

Last year, an incredible 2,300 fake Amazon websites were set up ahead of the sales.

Online hackers will go to great lengths to try to fleece their victims, even creating replicas of the special homepage Amazon hosts during Prime Day - complete with working web links.

Once they have visitors using the fake site, they will be able to steal personal information and banking details.
