Investing in beauty is pricey.
There are a lot of categories to consider, and none of them are cheap. Skincare. Haircare. Fragrance. Makeup. Then you’ve got the rising trend towards body care as well as an increasing number of devices and utensils which are lauded as the next best thing: LED masks, contouring tools, speedstyle dryers, gua sha stones, face rollers, etc.
Put simply, your bank account is going to feel the burn if you’re even remotely interested in beauty – but that’s where Amazon Prime Day comes in. If there’s one time of year you don’t have to spend full whack, it’s the few days in summer when the mega-retailer puts on a sales event which discounts pretty much every category going, including the entire array on the beauty spectrum. Though the dates change slightly every year, it tends to happen in July.
From luxury brands like Elemis and Molton Brown to tried-and-tested favourites L’Occitane and Sanctuary Spa, with all of the Baylis & Hardings, Neal's Yards, Elizabeth Ardens and Olaplexes somewhere in between, you can bag an amazing range of brands for far less than the RRP. So, it’s a perfect opportunity to stock up on your go-to products or buy that one formula you’ve been dying to try, which usually feels a little too expensive.
And that’s before we get to the appliances. Since Amazon’s known for tech, it’s no surprise that the beauty gadgets are some of the best-selling deals. Right now, there’s markdown on GHDs, Shark hairdryers, NuFACE’s microcurrent contouring device and CurrentBody’s LED mask, among countless others. In short, if you’ve got any beauty-related accessories on your wishlist, APD’s your best chance of getting them cheap.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2025?
It’s happening as we speak. This year, it’s a four-day affair which started first thing on Tuesday, July 8, and will finish at midnight on Friday, July 11. The best deals do tend to sell out, especially for the premium brands, so if there’s anything you’ve got your eye on, we’d recommend securing it ASAP.
How to take part in Amazon Prime Day
Shopping for the deals is super easy. The one simple rule: you need to be an Amazon Prime member.
If you’re a newbie and have never done the trial, you can sign up for 30 days free of charge. If you’re a seasoned Prime Member, though, you’re looking at £8.99 a month or £95 for the year. But if you think about the amount you’ll save, you could essentially get the membership for free. Girl math strikes again.

CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask
Beauty tech is CurrentBody’s bread and butter, so I had high hopes for its own-brand LED mask - and the good news is, I wasn’t disappointed. For pre-party prep, this treatment has you covered. I’ve been using it for months and have been seriously impressed.
There’s a combination of collagen-stimulating red lights as well as infrared that has a rejuvenating effect on areas of the skin that need healing. There are anti-ageing benefits too where you may see a reduction in the look of wrinkles - with many users suggesting that this happens in just one month. This is, of course, depending on how deeply set these are, but you should at least notice the improvement of tone, texture and tightness. Consistency is key.
Easy to slip into your everyday routine, use the mask for just 10 minutes three to five times a day. When you’re travelling or out and about, the new and flexible poured liquid silicone exterior means you can slip it into your luggage with ease, while also being kinder and better fitting on the contour of the face.
For the Series 2 Mask, the beauty gadget specialist has upgraded the LEDs used for greater precision never before guaranteed - it now uses those with wavelengths 633nm and 830nm being within -/-2.5nm. The simplicity of use is very appreciated - just turn on and go. It automatically switches off when the treatment is over.

Shark Cryo Glow LED Anti-Ageing and Blemish Repair Mask

As a beauty editor, my housemates have become accustomed to the various face adornments I’m typically trialling — but Shark’s Robocop-gone-wrong Cryo Glow made them jump out of their skin. Unlike the typical flexible silicone, the LED face mask has a hard shell that shields a wealth of features.
The Cryo Glow mimics a professional treatment with four personalised programs. The 160 LEDs flit between three wavelengths — blue and the dermis-reaching red and infrared light — depending on the routine. But where it stands out is its use of Insta Chill Technology. Under the eyes are chill pads that are immediately cooling on dark circles — even without turning on the device. Once up and running, they feel as cold as ice to depuff bags with three levels of intensity.
The results are immediate, but consistency is key, with the brand suggesting daily use for a minimum of eight weeks. Each treatment in the program is up to eight minutes long. I tested the Blemish Repair. My skin felt cleaner, clearer and smoother. Then it’s a case of maintenance; Skin Sustain cuts the program down to just four minutes to boost the complexion.

GHD Gold Hair Straightener
The Gold model may have a similar appearance to the other ghd straighteners in the collection, but it has been specifically designed for those looking to create bouncy bombshell curls, effortless beach waves and silky, shiny styles.
This tool also has sensors on the styling plates to monitor the temperature and a contoured design to eliminate snagging.
The first thing we noticed on test was the premium, quality construction. And then the sheer ease of use, especially on fine hair. But reviewers say the same about thicker locks, with one claiming, “I have used GHD straighteners for many years, I felt these glided through my hair better, I have very thick hair, so a big plus for me”. Another agreed, “They are great to get into the roots for people with really thick hair”.

Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

Murad’s Aha/Bha Exfoliating Cleanser tackles skin renewal from two angles: by dissolving dead skin cells and renewing the skin’s texture. One that you’ll probably want to use sparingly (once or twice a week to begin with) if you haven’t experimented with acids before, it combines salicylic, lactic and glycolic acids to encourage clarity and brightness.
Those looking for a little extra exfoliation will enjoy its never-ending list of other benefits: jojoba beads to further polish and re-texturise the skin; sodium PCA and jojoba seed oil to help counteract dryness and liquorice extract to provide anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties to your skin.

Calvin Klein CK One Unisex Eau de Toilette
CK One was an immediate bestseller as soon as it came to market in 1994.
Just 10 days after it was unveiled, it has already generated sales of $5 million with one sold every 20 seconds, according to reports. This genderless fragrance is defined as a citrus aromatic chypre with a lengthy ingredient list that may give the impression of a sensory overload but is universally beloved – hence the messaging “One for all” that dominated the ads.
The composition of possibly contradicting notes is the point. This was not designed to be overpowering, but instead be an unassuming aroma. It has top notes of pineapple, mandarin orange, papaya, bergamot, cardamom and lemon. This is set alongside nutmeg, violet, orris root, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley and rose and a base of sandalwood, amber, musk, cedar and oakmoss.
