Amazon praised by shoppers for 'phenomenal' way it is spreading festive cheer

Amazon has been spreading some Christmas cheer to its customers with a secret change to its delivery notifications.

Usually, customers can track parcels through the Amazon app on their phone and are alerted when the driver is a few stops away.

Then they can open a map to see how close the driver is, with their location usually marked with a dot.

However, the driver's icon has been replaced with a festive sleigh, so as the driver gets closer to your address it looks like Santa is coming to deliver your presents.

Customers have been taking to Twitter to share their delight about it.

One shopper said: "Tell me Amazon’s sleigh is not the cutest thing ever?" and another said: "Amazon just updated its tracking point to a Santa sleigh. Nice touch."

A third customer added: "Amazon's delivery tracker is a little sleigh on the map and yes ok that's quite charming," while another added: "Whoever made the truck location display as a sleigh - I noticed and it's delightful."

A fourth tweeted: "The Amazon app delivery tracking map now shows the van as a sleigh! This made me smile," while another wrote: "Amazon's map with Santa's sleigh is phenomenal.

And a fifth said: "It's the little things like Amazon using a sleigh on the delivery tracker that bring me joy these days."

Another said: "You guys know Santa's been using Amazon for years now, right? Doesn’'t even reindeer up the sleigh anymore."

And finally, a seventh person said: "Almost forgot that Amazon is a soul-eating corporate business due to the delivery person's icon being a lil sleigh."
