‘Amazon owes me a gift card’: Man rescues stranded delivery truck in the snow, but what he used to tow it is surprising

A man driving an old Toyota 4Runner pulled a huge Amazon delivery truck out of the snow, and the video has gone viral. The driver, Aiden, posted the rescue on TikTok and joked that Amazon should give him a gift card for saving their deliveries.

According to Motor1, Aiden (@aidantgr) shared the video on TikTok, and it has been viewed 5 million times. A surprise snowstorm left the large 18-wheeler truck stuck on the side of the road. Aiden showed up in his 1997 4Runner and decided to help the stranded driver.

Most people would think a mid-90s SUV can’t pull an 18-wheeler, but Aiden proved them wrong. He attached a towing strap to his 4Runner and slowly pulled the massive truck back onto the road. The person filming couldn’t believe it, saying “Oh my god” as the truck started moving.

The rescue was all about helping drivers in need

Aiden told Motor1  that he wanted to help because he knows truck drivers have tough jobs. He said the Amazon driver didn’t speak English but was very thankful for the help since the storm happened suddenly. Even though Aiden helped out of kindness, he made a joke afterward.

In his TikTok video, he wrote, “I think Amazon owes me a gift card.” He also pointed out that he saved hundreds of packages from being delayed. Aiden said he got the truck out of the ditch and helped the driver find a safe place to park.

@aidantgr

@Amazon I saved you a couple hundred package delays. And yes I did get him out of the ditch and all the way up the street to where he could park safe. Thanks to @Rhino USA for the straps that can hold more than a full semi!! #amazon #toyota #thirdgen4runner

People in the comments said the video was free advertising for Toyota. One person wrote Toyota owe you a commercial !” Another said, “Amazon & Toyota better pay my boy cause I’ll be dammed if his truck stops working..” Many viewers said this should be Toyota’s next Super Bowl commercial. Stories like this show why Toyota vehicles have such a strong reputation, similar to how one man traded in his wrecked car for a new model.

Toyota responded to the viral video with a comment on TikTok saying “Same-day shipping with 4Runner.” The comment got over 49,000 likes. Aiden replied to Toyota asking if they wanted to make an advertisement together. The brand’s quick response shows they understand customer engagement, unlike what happened to another buyer at a dealership who had a different experience.

Amazon never responded to the video or reached out to Aiden. He confirmed that the company stayed silent about the whole thing, which seems like a missed chance to celebrate a good story about their deliveries being saved.
