Amazon could move up its annual Prime Day sales event to June, reports say.
The e-commerce giant moved the shopping event last year from its normal slot in July until October, because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Now the company may move it forward a month to help boost its second quarter financial figures, as June falls into Q2, reports Recode.
Before last year the event had always been held in July since it was introduced in 2015.
Holding the event in Q2 rather than Q3 would allow the company to show investors greater growth from Q2 2020 to Q2 2021, a source said.

An Amazon spokesperson said in a statement that the company had not “made any announcements about Prime Day.”
The Jeff Bezos-founded company enjoyed huge success during the pandemic as people were forced to rely more heavily on online shopping.
With a later than ever Prime Day last year, Amazon surpassed the $100bn in revenue mark for the first time in its history in Q4 of 2020.
Prime Day was originally started to encourage people to buy Prime memberships.
The company claims it is the biggest shopping day of the year, with sales exceeding Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.
