Amazon launches Brussels sprout flavour ketchup

Some items should simply never be seen on the Christmas dinner table.

And for most of us, a ketchup bottle features high on this list.

While we all know that one person who adds 'chup to everything, surely a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Or does it?

According to the Mirror, the launch of a Brussels sprout flavour ketchup might just have changed the landscape where Christmas dinner etiquette is concerned.

Each bottle of the newly-developed condiment contains around 15 British Brussels sprouts, chosen for the recipe based on their sweet, nutty flavour.

The vegetable is then blended with cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon to give the tasting notes of braised red cabbage.

Sold exclusively on Amazon for £3 per bottle, the one-of-a-kind condiment has been made exclusively by Sauce Shop for the online retail giant.

The sauce, which reaches customers for the first time next week, is described by Sauce Shop co-founder Pam Digva as a product which "bring out the natural sweet, nutty flavour of the often misunderstood Brussels sprout."

“Our mission has always been a pursuit of flavour, which can only be achieved using high-quality, natural ingredients,” she added.

“Our limited-edition Brussels sprout ketchup is testament to the versatility of this highly nutritious, seasonal vegetable.

"There is more vitamin C in one sprout than an entire orange - we’re very proud of our sauce.”
