Back in May, Amazon announced an invitation-only subscription program for Prime members in which users could receive a curated box of kids’ books each month. This week, Amazon opened the program to everyone with a Prime account in the US.

At $22.99 a box, Prime Book Box subscribers select their frequency (every month, every two months, or every three months) and reader age range (baby to 2, which comes with four board books per box, or 3-5, 6-8, or 9-12, which each come with two hardcover books). Users can preview their box’s contents and swap books out for others on the curated list.

Book subscriptions seem to be all the rage at the moment, with Walmart and its partner Rakuten (owner of Kobo) also this month launching an audiobook subscription. There are also several other kid-focused book subscription boxes already on the market (some far cheaper), though none paired with the powerful Amazon brand.
