Amazon is selling a bracelet that shocks you when you eat or spend too much

When you're trying to eat well and lose weight or you're trying to save money, will power can often be hard to find.

If you've tried everything from meal planning to giving yourself a spending limit, this product might be the next idea for you.

Amazon is selling a bracelet that claims to help curb your bad habits by administering an electric shock each time you lose will power.

The 350-volt shock can be self-administered, using the button on the wristband, or it can be activated by an external sensor connected to the Pavlok app on a paired smartphone, MirrorOnline reports.

Your friends and family can also download the app to keep track of you, and if they see you've been eating too much can zap you remotely.

It doesn't just work for junk food, but can be used to break bad habits ranging from smoking and nail biting to oversleeping, according to Pavlok.

As well as delivering an electric jolt, the bracelet can also beep and vibrate.

So if, for example, you want to wake up earlier, you can set an alarm within the app. Pavlok will vibrate gently around your wrist to rouse you, but if you ignore it you'll be zapped with an electric shock.

You could also link it to your bank account, so you get a shock for exceeding your spending limit, or use a GPS sensor to deliver an electric shock if you don't go to the gym.

"Pavlok allows you to speak your reptile brain's  language by adding an unpleasant element (a safe and harmless 'zap' of electricity on your wrist) to what you have been taught to love (your nasty lingering habit)," the company states on its website.

"Quickly conditioning your mind to associate an 'unpleasant' feeling with your bad habit… and stopping it all together."

The Pavlock 2 bracelet comes with a choice of colourful silicone wristbands, and a micro USB cable for charging.

The battery has the capacity for over 150 tiny jolts on a single charge.

The Pavlock 2 bracelet is available on Amazon.co.uk for £193.62, plus £3.67 UK delivery.
