Amazon is offering a £1,000 joining bonus for new Scottish staff

Amazon are offering new workers an incentive in a bid to recruit more people to their warehouse.

The online retail giant is looking for "urgently needed" warehouse staff to pick, pack and distribute orders with the incentive said to be a £1,000 joining bonus amid a growing recruitment crisis.

Candidates who join before September 18 2021 will get the sign-on fee, according to jobs site Indeed with the company also offering "immediate starts".

Amazon are also offering an hourly rate of £11.10 an hour with overtime rising to £22.20 an hour and no experience is needed.

Amazon aren't the only company to offer an incentive as Tesco have previously said that they would offer lorry drivers a sign-on bonus of £1,000 as well back in July amid a shortage of staff.

The supermarket said the bonus for candidates will be on offer for anyone who joins between July 14 and September 30 2021.
