Amazon is giving away a month of free movies and education apps for kids

With nurseries and schools closed amid the coronavirus outbreak, parents are on the lookout for ways to keep their children entertained.

Amazon is giving families a helping hand by letting them access thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps and games absolutely free.

The free trial of the Amazon's Kids Unlimited Service means they can learn as well as being entertained, with reading and maths apps included in the online bundle.

Fire for Kids Unlimited also includes thousands of books and offers flexible parental controls where you can choose what content each child sees, set educational goals and time limits. You can manage these settings from their device, or remotely from the Amazon Parent Dashboard.

It also includes the ability to personalize each kid's experience with profiles, and let them watch where they want to - on Fire Tablets, or Kindle eReaders.

You can choose content for different ages with three to five, six to eight and nine to twelve available.

Once you’re signed up parents receive access to easy-to-use parental controls that allow them to find the right balance between education and entertainment. Parents can personalise screen time limits, set educational goals, filter age-appropriate content, and also manage web browsing and content usage based on their preferences.

Some of the shows and channels available include Cbeebies, Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank Engine, Mr. Men, Nickelodeon and Angry Birds.

Once your free trial is up then you can continue the monthly subscriptions from £1.99 per month or just cancel it and you won’t pay a penny.
