Amazon delivery driver infuriates couple as he runs away without ringing bell

A couple were left stunned when a delivery driver dropped a parcel on their doorstep without even trying to knock on their door.

Shane Edmonds, 36, was sat at home with his wife, Joanna, at around midday on Friday, December 6, when they got a notification on their phone to say their Amazon delivery had been ‘handed to resident’.

The confused couple from went outside to find their parcel waiting for them on the front door, with no note or explanation - reports the Manchester Evening News.

But the pair had recently installed a door camera - and were left surprised by what they saw on the footage.

It showed the delivery driver quickly drop off the parcel at the front door before running off to his van - without any attempt to knock on the door and wait.

Shane said: "We got the notification to say it had been delivered, but we were really confused because we’d not heard the door or anything so we thought it was worth checking the camera.

“Thankfully, it was only a pack of vitamins that my wife had ordered that cost around £9, but the driver doesn’t know that.

"That could have been a thousand quid phone.”

Shane said it was an “absolute joke” to see the driver run away and to not even try to hand deliver the package.

He continued: “My frustration isn’t with Amazon really, it’s with the company that is being hired to deliver the parcels.”

Shane said he has contacted Amazon about what happened but believes they “don’t really care” as he was able to collect the parcel.

He said: We got a refund even though it got delivered and we didn’t ask for one - they just weren’t listening to our frustrations."

Shane said the couple have had previous issues with Amazon’s delivery service, with another item earlier this year being delivered to the wrong address.

Not only that but after sharing the video in a local Facebook group, one resident told Shane of a similar incident.

He said: "They said they had ordered a mobile phone and it was just left outside the front door without a note or anything - it's ridiculous."

An Amazon spokesperson said: “We have very high standards for our delivery service providers and expect every package to be handled with care.

“We've notified the right teams internally and are working with the customer directly on matters related to their package delivery.”
